Rubeena Begum
Edge of Care Support
Since:
I have over 14 years’ experience working as a Parent Advocate within a local mental health charity, providing support to parents involved in legal proceedings as well as delivering wider statutory mental health advocacy services. This role has enabled me to develop strong skills in advocacy, safeguarding, and working within complex and sensitive environments.
I am currently employed by a local authority as a Personal Advisor within the Children and Families Care Leavers Team. In this role, I support young people as they transition into independence, offering guidance, practical support, and ensuring they have access to the services they need to thrive.
I am passionate about working with both young people and families, and I am committed to empowering individuals to build confidence, resilience, and independence. My approach is person-centred, supportive, and focused on achieving positive outcomes.
